Oldie Moldie Monday

It's been a while since I've made a card for Oldie Moldie Monday.  OMM is where Barb and I dig into our stash and give love to some long forgotten supplies.  Today's card is based on the sketch 23 at Freshly Made Sketches.  I think this is the first time I've joined in on one of their challenges.  And I'm getting in just under the wire.

The transparency is from Teresa Collins (Mr. & Mrs) and sentiment sticker is from SRM.  Those are the only new things on the card.  Everything else is from my stash.  The rose sticker is from PSX 2002!!  I don't usually keep things for 10 years, but these were my very favorite stickers and I've hoarded them as PSX is not around any longer.
My other card today was inspired by this card made by Mandi from Less is More.  I fell in love with this elegant card and wanted to recreate it for a wedding card I needed.  It didn't quite turn out the same, but I like the result.

The transparency is from Teresa Collins again, heart die cuts are from Sizzix, sticker is from SRM, rhinestones are from Prima, Stickels.  I'm entering this in the 'use your stash' challenge at Less is More.  The only newish things here are the transparency and stickers, everything else is from my stash.
Thanks so much for dropping by.  Happy Monday.

Well Behaved Women...

Hi there,
It's been a busy week, but today I managed to sneak away to play along with some challenges.  I started out with CAS-ual Friday CFC41 Jest for the Pun of it challenge.
The color combo came from Runway Inspired Challenge RIC # 6
and the sketch came from Clean and Simple Stamping FTL #179

Here's my card:

The hat and sentiment are from Skipping Stones Design, stamped with VersaMagic and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.  Dry embossing plate is from Cuttlebug.
The basement is full of teenagers...I'm off to find some ear plugs!

Best Day of the Year

Happy Valentine's Day!
Today I'm still catching up with challenges at the Winter Warm Up Crop at CardMaker Swap Board.  The challenge on Wednesday was to create a card using a quote or a poem.  I'm also joining in with the CPS 5th Anniversary Celebration, day 5 sketch.  It's been fun playing along with all sketches over at CPS.  I'm also playing with Lily Pad Cards patterned paper challenge.

Here's my card:

The sentiment is from a pad of quotes and sentiments on vellum from Jo-Ann's.  The paper was a gift from my friend Barb, I'll have to ask if she remembers who it's from.  Flowers are from Prima.

Thanks for dropping by.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

Altered Notebook

Hi again...today was just a blur, as most Mondays are these days.  My day is spent in taxi service, driving from one side of the city to the other with my daughters and all of their commitments and activities.  And although it's a lot of driving, I really don't mind...it gives me time with my girls...as I've come to realize, the older they get, our time together gets less and less.

The Winter Warm Up Crop at CardMaker Swap Board is over but there is still time to join in the fun. till tomorrow night.  The challenge on Thur. was to create a journal or a notebook.  I've been wanting to do this for a while, so glad this challenge came along to give me a bit of a push.

The notebook came in a pack of 2 from the $ store.  Sentiment is on vellum from JoAnn's, not sure who made the paper and the beads are from Bazzill (Grandma's Feather Bed).

Thanks so much for dropping by,
Ivanka

CardMaker Winter Warm Up Blog Hop

There is an awesome crop going on over at CardSwaps this week. Challenges and games will be posted February 8-11, 2012 and you have until February 14, 2012 to get your projects posted to the appropriate thread. We are VERY excited to announce we have two sponsors for this crop, SpellBinders and Elmer's Glue!!!

The blog hop theme goes with the crop title of "Winter Warm Up". All of the blog hostesses will be sharing projects that make them smile and help bring warm, fuzzy feelings to the cold winter months.

We're also playing a game as we're hopping.  Collect a letter from each blog on the hop and unscramble the word once you collect all 13 letters.  The last hostess in the blog hop will direct you to the thread in the forum where you will find all the details to enter the drawing. Your only hint is... it's a phrase and it's a way paper crafters warm up.

For my project, I chose the movies.  There is nothing better than a movie on a cold winter night.  On any given Friday, we'll get all comfy, turn the fireplace on and plug in a movie.  One of my favorites is Pretty in Pink.  Ah, all of those 1986 memories!

Makes you smile, doesn't it?  I still love it!

So my projects reflect a little 80's Glam...

  1.  Dry emboss white cardstock with Vintage Wall Paper embossing folder (SU).
  2. Cut out frame (Teresa Collins, Mr. & Mrs.)
  3. Stamp sentiment (Hampton Art) onto vellum with black ink, heat emboss with clear powder.
  4. Adhere to frame with Tombow vellum adhesive.
  5. Attach brads to frame (Recollections).
  6. Tie ribbon in a bow, adhere feather trim.
  7. Adhere frame with foam adhesive.
To go along with the Glam/Pretty in Pink theme, I made a small gift to go along with the card.

I used rhinestones from $ store and adhered them to the bobby pins using a hot glue gun. The flower is from Offray, sentiment stamp is from SU (Just Believe)

I'm entering these in CAS-ual Friday's On the Red Carpet Challenge.

So for the game we are playing while we're hopping...my letter is:  A

Aqua

Hello...
The color challenge at Less is More this week is Aqua and they're celebrating their first birthday.  I'm so glad to have come across this challenge blog, so much inspiration and such a wonderful place.

A few years ago, I never would have used bright colors, but they have grown on me and now I quite like how bright and cheery they are.

The stamp is from Hampton Art (Kelly Panacci), flower is from Prima, embossing folder is from Cuttlebug and the ribbon is from Offray.  I hope it's alright that I've added a smidgen of color, it seems to liven up the card.
Thanks for visiting,
Ivanka

A Valentine Hi

Hi again...happy Saturday.
I've never made as many Valentine's Day cards as I have this year.  Don't know why that is.  Maybe it's the weather, we've hardly had a winter...there is no snow, the grass is green (not complaining though, I love this!!).  Anyway, I've sold or sent away most of them but I needed one that was a Valentine theme, but not romantic.  This is what I came up with.

The background stamp is from Rubberstamp Ave.  Heart is die cut from a Sizzix and dry embossed with a script embossing folder. The owl is from Maya Road (I think, I've had it for years), stickers are from Making Memories.
I'm entering this in Create: blog Valentine's Day challenge.

Thanks for stopping in.

Floral Delight

I love finding new blog challenges to play along with.  This week I found LESSology, a great challenge blog full of wonderful inspiration.  This weeks' theme is Floral Delight, you must use at least one up-cycled item as well.  Here's my card.

Flowers are from Prima, vellum is from Webster's pages, sticker is from SRM and my up-cycled item is the modelling mesh which we've had since one of the girls did a school project years ago.

Thanks for dropping by,
Ivanka

So I made this card a couple of days ago for the sketch challenge at CAS-ual Friday blog but didn't get a chance to post it.  Went to link it up today and realized that the deadline to upload was yesterday.
Duh.
Oh well, I'm still playing along and here is my card for Laura's sketch:

The stickers are from SRM, embossing folder is from Cuttlebug, punches are from SU.

Thanks for taking a peek...Ivanka
