Boo!

Hard to believe that Halloween is just a couple of days away.  It seems to have snuck up on me this year, I have yet to get my candy.  Hopefully 'Frankenstorm' won't interfere with trick or treating on Wednesday night.  I love seeing all the little ones in their costumes at the door.

Today, I'm playing long with this month's challenge at The Ribbon Carousel (RCC73) and entering the Paper Crafts Oct Gallery challenge where the theme for both is Halloween.

These were fun little projects to do.  For this little tag, I distressed the cardstock with white ink and used a cotton ball behind the ghost.  The stickers are from SRM We've got your Sticker-Treats, ribbon is from Offray.

For the little treats, the 2 x 2 die cut envelope is from Sizzix using vellum.  Stickers are from SRM, twine is from May Arts.  These turned out really cute.

Thanks for popping in today.
Happy Halloween!

Warm Wishes

I'm feeling a little like the stores that have the Christmas things out and it's not even Halloween yet.  For me, it's a good thing as I tend to procrastinate.  So the more Christmas cards get made now, the better I'm doing!

Today I'm playing along with this week's CAS(E) This Sketch.  Here's the sketch:

Here's my card:

The cardstock is Tim Holtz Kraft Core by Core'dinations.  I used the Quatrefoil embossing folder from The Paper Studio, then sanded down the cardstock to reveal the kraft core.  I cut the circle from the cardstock, but it looked a bit plain to me so I ended up replacing the circle using the opposite side of the cardstock.  The sticker is from Martha Stewart and the sentiment is from Hero Arts.

I'm also playing along with CAS-ual Friday (CFC76) challenge this week to use kraft paper.

Thanks for stopping in...happy Friday.

Get Well Soon

The Play Date Cafe is celebrating it's 3rd Anniversary.  I've been wanting to play along and join in the celebration all week, but the color story really had me stumped.

Here it is:

The colors are so rich and vibrant, but I kept stalling with every design I tried.

Finally today, I 'dummied' down the colors and the card came together.  That's how The Play Date Cafe has always been for me, a huge challenge with some of the colors, but the challenge does me a lot of good and I'm usually happy with the result.

The embossing folder is Argyle from The Paper Studio.  Washi tape is from Queen & Co. (striped) and Teresa Collins (music).  The flower is from The Paper Studio, flower center is from Prima and sentiment is from Hero Arts, and the newsprint is from Stampin' UP.

I'm also playing along with A Blog Named Hero, where the challenge is a CAS card.
Playing along with the CAS challenge at SCS also, where the challenge is to use newsprint/dictionary paper.

Thanks so much for dropping by.  And Happy Anniversary to The Play Date Cafe...check out the amazing prizes they have lined up.  But hurry, it ends tonight.

Merry and Bright

Hello...Today, I'm playing along with Runway Inspired Challenge (ric22)

Here was the inspiration.

Here's what I came up with.

I know there is a lot of beige in the picture and it looks fabulous, I just couldn't seem to make it work on my card.  The embossing folder is Winter Words from Sizzix, Christmas tree die cut is Snowflake Tree from Memory Box, Sentiment is from SRM and the ribbon is from my stash.

I'm also playing along withe CAS-ual Friday Blog (cfc75) where the challenge is use a tag or an element that goes over the edge of the card.  They also had a huge announcement at CAS-ual Friday Blog...check it out!

Thanks for dropping by.  Hope you're having a wonderful Saturday.

Happy Birthday

Happy WCMD #3!  Wow, 3 posts in the same day...unheard of from me!  But it's been a wonderful day, perfect for creating.

My last card today is based on this week's Runway Inspired Challenge (21).  Here's the image:

And here's my card.

Not sure who makes the flower, I bought them in bulk from a scrapbooking store, the embossing folder is from Stampin UP!, sentiment is from Papertrey Ink, trim is from Making Memories, Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher.

I'm also entering this into Moxie Fab's World Card Making Day Birthday challenge.  Also entering this for the sketch challenge that Kim Kresti is having on her blog.  This is based on her sketch 29.  It is the sketch that was featured over at Skipping Stones Design in Sept, but I didn't get a chance to play along.  Glad to do so today.  Love this sketch.

So that is it for me today.  I had a lot of fun playing along with some challenges on the web...hope you did too.

Season's Greetings!

Happy World Card Making Day!  I hope you've had time to get crafty today.  I've had a fun day, everyone in the family had something to do (outside the house!!!) ...and I had the afternoon to myself to join in some card making fun!

Here's the first card I made today for the fabulous challenge over at the SRM Stickers blog.  The challenge is to use one of the cards the DT created as inspiration to make a card using SRM stickers.  If you've visited my blog before, you may have noticed that I have a slight addiction to SRM stickers.  I've admitted it before, but it's only recently that I realized how bad  (or good!) it is.  Over on SRM's Flicker gallery, I'm right up there with the top contributors...#6!  I've uploaded over 100 cards using SRM stickers....yup, addicted!

My card is based on the gorgeous card Tenia posted.

Here's my card...first Christmas card of the season!

The patterned paper is from sei, the embossing folder is Victoria from Cuttlebug and Quatrefoil from The Paper Studio, ink is Brilliance from Tsukineko, the gems are from Prima.  I tucked some Darice glitter yarn behind the red panel to give the card some shimmer.  The sticker is SRM's Fancy Sticker Sentiment.

I'm also entering this in Moxie Fab's World Card Making Day Christams card challenge.

Thanks so much for stopping by, hope you get to join in the Card Making fun today.

Happy Birthday

The challenge at the CASual Friday blog (CFC 72) this week is to 'toot your own horn' ie...make a card using your blog header as inspiration.

My header came from a card I made a while ago.  I edited the image in Picasa and added my title.  Luckily, I still had some of the flowers I used on my original card.

Here's my card.

The flower sticker is from K&Co., I added some stickels the embossing folder is Quatrefoil from The Paper Studio and the birthday sticker is from SRM.

I'm also playing along with this week's sketch at Retro Sketches (31).  I flipped it and took a few tiny, creative liberties with the sketch.  :)

Thanks so much for coming by to visit.

Thinking about it, it may be time to get a new blog banner.
