Can't help but create!!

I am loving all the new things I brought back with me from my trip to Wisconsin. I felt the need to create, even though time was short today.

The polka dot paper is My Mind's Eye and the floral is Basic Grey. Ribbon is from Making Memories. I fell in love with it the minute I saw it. The flower is the same as yesterday, really liked that too.

Oldie Moldie Monday

I've been away and have come home a new woman! Well not exactly. But I have come home with tons of new supplies though.
I was in Wisconsin over the weekend. My friend Barb lives near Madison and another friend Annie, from Minnesota, drove down to visit with us. It was a whirlwind weekend and a whole lot of fun. Boy does Barb have some great places to shop. Wonderful scrap booking stores, a Joanne's, a Hobby Lobby, a Target and even Gina K has a store near her. We were in shopping heaven. Needless to say, I came home with some new things to play with and will probably need to mix some new in with the oldies, just so I can start using my new fun things.
We even got to an outlet mall to do some clothes shopping. We found a great sale at Bass and came out with some great deals. It was a wonderful weekend spent with great friends.

So here's my card with a mix of old and new. The patterned paper is from Anna Griffin and the script is from 7 gypsies. I've had both for many years. They were my favorite for a long time and I used to hoard them. The flowers are mainly new, the outer purple is from The Paper Studio, the beige one is from Kaiser Scrapbooking, and the small purple one is from Prima. The brad is from Imaginisce and I got to use my new Sizzix flourish die cut. The sentiment is a rub on from Deja Views.

Oldie Moldie Monday

This week, I dug into my Basic Grey stash and dug up some old papers I'd been hoarding. These papers are perfect for masculine cards but I had the hardest time coming up with a design. It just wasn't coming. I did end up making 2 cards, basic in design, but they do the job.


The letters are from American Crafts. They're self adhesive foam and fun to work with. Ribbon from my stash.

Sentiment stamp here is from Printworks. The embossed paper is an old piece of cardstock that I've had from Lasting Impressions. Feels good to use it up.

April Image Swap Card

This was an image sent to a bunch of us from Cococat's Cardmaking site. I thought it was such a lovely image and just so pretty and girly, so that's the direction I took with the card. It's so amazing to see all the different ideas everyone comes up with using the same image. Check out the gallery over there if you haven't visited recently. There is a ton of inspiration there. And the MB is friendly and fun so pop in there too and say hello.
The patterned paper was still left from the March card kit that I used last week. It really was a wonderful kit Lisa on PCA sent out. I colored the image with Twinkling H2O's, and punched it out with the Marvy scallop punch. I added Tulip Fashion Bead Paint to the scallops. I cut a larger oval with the CM oval cutting system and I added Stikcles to the flower centers on the patterned paper. The flowers are from 7 gypsies. I touched them up with Twinkling H2O's to make a more matching color.

Use it up Monday Challenge

Well here it is Monday again. I can't believe how fast the weeks go. I haven't really had much time to create lately, so it's a darned good thing that I make myself get some cards made for my Monday challenge. For this week, I decided to catch up on a card kit challenge that was sent out by Lisa on Paper Crafters Anonymous in March. I just haven't had time to get it done till this weekend. So I hope you don't mind if I play catch up on this challenge instead of digging into my stash today.
All the gorgeous papers I used were sent to me in the card kit as were some of the stickers. I added the flowers and the ribbon. Once I got started I couldn't seem to stop, I just loved these papers and the gorgeous colors that were in them.

Ribbon is from Martha Stewart. It's in her Halloween pack of ribbon, but it worked perfectly for this card. The large flower is from Imaginisce and the 3 D sticker flower is from Sandylion.

The stamps are from Hero Arts, key charm is from 7 gypsies, and same ribbon from Martha again. I just love this sticker that came in the kit, it's so colorful and cheery, such a cute little house.

Here the purple flower is from Prima and the 3D sticker one is from Sandylion again. I really love those flowers form Sandylion. They're colorful, so easy to use and provide just the right finishing touch. And the company is Canadian!! Sentiment stamp is from Anna Griffin and I used Paper Frills from Doodlebug for the scalloped border.

Large flower is from Imaginisce, small is from Sandylion, ribbon is from Strano. It was in a sample pack that I got form a trade show and it fit perfectly across the front of the card.

And the last one for now (I have at least 2 more that I'm working on from this kit). The brads are from Making Memories and the sentiment stamp is from 7 gypsies.

Hope you're all having a good Monday so far. It was nice and sunny here today and the rest of the week is supposed to be even nicer. It's so wonderful to see the spring bulbs coming up.

Oldie-Moldie Monday

Well, I've spent the better part of the last few days de-cluttering my scrap space and am happy to report that I have 2 good sized boxes to offer up for the LSS garage sale coming up next month. This is one of my favorite events of the year. I get to get rid of old supplies that I'll probably never use and in return I get a store credit to buy new supplies! Can't beat that!

Not to worry though, I didn't get rid of everything old. I kept some of my favorites that I know I'd be able to make use of. For today's challenge, I dug deep into my paper pile and came up with this pretty K&Co. paper from a few years ago. It seemed perfect for this sympathy card I needed for my husband's cousin who recently lost her father. The blossom is from Bazzill, flower sticker is from Sandylion and the sentiment is from Deja Views.

'Use It Up' Monday-part 2

I found this sticker that I've had from Violette Stickers and realized it would fit perfectly with Caardvarks Homegrown challenge as well as my 'use it up Monday' challenge. All the things I used in this card have been with me for over a year! Definitely time to use it up!

The patterned paper is from Bo Bunny, the paper frills are from Doodlebug, Buttons are from making memories, brad and photo turn are from Stemma and the rub on sentiment is from Basic Grey.

'Use It Up' Monday

So I can't seem to make up my mind on what I want to call this Monday challenge. I guess it doesn't really matter as long as I'm using up some of my collection of stuff.

Today, I grabbed my Making Memories foam stamps and paint. I've had these for about 5 years and have used them on and off a bit, but not in about 2 years. These are my favorite corner stamps, and work perfectly on this gift bag. The flower is from WalMart and the brad is from Hot Off The Press. I think I'll have to keep my foam stamps out for a while...this was fast and a lot of fun.
By the way, have any of you had trouble with the MM paints drying up? Mine have long since dried up so I recently bought new ones and they're clumpy already. I've switched to regular craft paint, it seems to work just great and doesn't dry up nearly as fast. Would love to hear your experiences with paint.

I Love Cats Card

Everyone says that you're either a cat person, or you're not. I guess I'm not truly a cat person, I've never had a cat. I have friends who have cats though, and this sentiment seems to be so true. A cat, as with any pet, becomes the soul of the home.

I love making pet cards for people who will enjoy them. Having a little doggie around, I do know how a pet becomes such a huge part of the family. This is for a person who I think will enjoy the card a lot. (I hope!)
The sticker and the ribbon are from Autumn Leaves, and I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder for the background.

Wearing White...

I made this card for an image swap on Cococat's Cardmaking I colored the image with Twinkling H2O's and added Tulip Fashion Bead Paint to the corners. I stamped Rhonna Farrer flourishes on the background with VersaMark ink. Paper frills are by Doodlebug, stickers are from Stampendous, font is 2 Peas Architect. Then I added glitter chalk to everything.

Oldie-Moldie Monday

It's still Monday, right?? I have been so behind on everything this week, but I'm glad I got this challenge done before the day was over. My mom has been here visiting from Edmonton. We've had a great visit, but not much crafting got done. With mom's delicious cooking, we all are a bit heavier at the end of her visit, but boy it was worth it! Her apple strudel is to die for!

For this week, I dug out these Rebecca Sower printed cutouts from way back in 2003. I used to love anything and everything Rebecca did. Her things were always so fabulous and funky and so unlike anything I ever did, and all I could do was marvel at her creativity. And her studio was to die for! So I was thrilled when I found her blog not too long ago. She'd taken a year off from scrapbooking and Creating Keepsakes and is now back to teaching and creating. For each of the little pictures, I painted Aleene's Paper Glaze on top and then sprinkled it with Making Memories Shimmer , an ultra fine glitter. I don't really like to use glitter, but I love the look of this fine glitter, so I put up with a bit of sparkle, because glitter never stays where it's supposed to!! The patterned paper is from Sandylion and the script paper is from 7 gypsies. I dug the 7 gypsies paper from my stash, so I get double points for that, right?? The rub on sentiment is from QuicKutz.

For this card, the flourish chipboard is from Bo Bunny. I inked it with ColorBox Chestnut ink. The sentiment is from Studio G, patterned paper is from Sandylion.

The paper for this card is from K&Co., another piece from deep down in the stash. I cut some chipboard with the Marvy scallop punch and inked it with the ColorBox Chestnut ink again. Then I stamped a Rhonna Farrer flourish on top. Sentiment is from Printworks.

It was actually fun working with these lovely pictures again and finding Rebecca Sower again. I am still in love with her studio!

Oldies but Goodies Monday

So what I pulled out of my stash today are the defined stickers from Making Memories. I still remember my excitement when these came out in 2003. Definitions were all the rage. They were so unusual and so fun, well let's just say that I collected a whole bunch of them! 5 years later, they're still fun to use.
The green paper and the brad are from Making Memories. Polka dot paper is from Imaginisce.

The flower and brad are from Making Memories, silver brads are from Imaginisce and chipboard book plate is from Deluxe Designs. I painted it with MM paint.

The flourishes are from Rhonna Farrer, stickers are from Stickapotomous, stick pin is from Making Memories. I ran the jewel tag through the printer and used New Times Roman in size 8. That font and size fits perfectly on the tiny tag.

Hope you find time to dig out your defined stickers and have fun creating with these again.

Easter Card

They give you cute ideas for making other adorable animal creations for Easter.
I used a hard boiled egg, the blowing out part seemed like too much trouble.

Oldies but Goodies Monday

Are you a little like this?? Do you collect supplies more than you use them? A new thing comes out and you just have to have it, and then it ends up sitting in a drawer. I do that more than I like to admit. So I'm going to try and challenge myself each Monday. I'll be digging deep into my stash and whatever 'Oldie' I pull out, I'm going to try and use it. I think it'll be a great way to use my stash and build up my card supply. Anyone want to join me in the 'Oldies but Goodies' challenge on Monday's?

So here is my first set of cards for this challenge. I started out with One Heart...One Mind's Formality paper. There are 4 of these invitation blanks on a page. They're great starters for a card and look good with almost anything. The stickers are the ones that I've had in my stash for ages. I love stickers, especially the ones PSX used to make. They've since gone out of business and I've been hoarding the stickers, just because I like them so much. But the time has come to use them and I love the way the cards turned out. Ribbon is from Offray, rub on sentiments are from Deja Views brads are from Making Memories. The sticker on the right is another one from deep in my sticker pile from Debbie Mumm.

Transportation Challenge

Where has the week gone?? Work always seems to interfere with my creative time-go figure.

I made these two cards for a transportation challenge on Caardvarks
The patterned paper is from 7 gypsies, Journey tag is from 3 Bugs in a Rug, picture hanger is from Stampin' Up, clock brad is from K&Co. and the Bon Voyage is a rub on from American Traditional Design.

So while I was on a roll, I made this boy card for an upcoming birthday. The paper is from Rusty Pickle and the felt tag is from Me and My Big Ideas.
