I can't tell you where I got the image-because I can't remember where I got it. Lol! It was somewhere on the Internet, that much I know. I embossed some silver around the edges, the beautiful marble paper is from Prism Papers, black flower is from Imaginisce, red is from Prima. Brad is from Basic Grey, 'Happy' is from Stupendous and silver letters are from Making Memories. Gems are from the $ store.

The card that is still coming...
For whatever reason, there were a few Christmas cards that never got made, therefore never got mailed off. I feel bad, but hopefully this New Years Card will make up for it. I haven't made too many New Years cards in the past and I really found that I quite liked making this one! The pre-Christmas pressure is off, so I just got to enjoy a few minutes on my own, just creating.

Deck the Halls...
The busy time leading up to the Christmas season is over and I guess all of the 'halls have been decked' already! I can't believe how fast it's flown.
I hope you've had a happy time with your family and friends. We've had a busy few weeks, as you've seen by my lack of posts recently. As the holiday came closer, the time just slipped away from me! But it all got done in the end, save for a few cards that are going to have to be New Years Cards! And most of all, we've had some wonderful family memories-most impressively- us beating DH at Wii sports!!
Here are a few Christmas cards that I sent out but didn't have time to share before Christmas. The 3 D stickers are all from a discount store. I fell in love with them the minute I saw them...I should have bought more! The colors are so beautiful and I loved the touch of sparkle on them.
The patterned paper is form Basic Grey, stick pin is from Around the Block, ribbon is from Joanne's, rub on sentiment is from American Crafts. Don't know who makes the leather paper, I got it in the clearance section of my LSS.

More Christmas Cards
Every year I tell myself early in the fall that I will get my Christmas cards done early. Well it never works. I seem to need a looming deadline in order to get things done. Therefore, I'm still in the Christmas card making mode....
This is the version that I made most of. The pp is from Kaiser Craft, the tree image is from Inkadinkadoo, the red sparkle embossing powder is from All night Media and the ribbon is from Hobby Lobby.

Happy Birthday
Since the card I intended for a birthday card a couple of days ago ended up being an Anniversary card, it was back to the drawing board for me! So this morning, I sat down and this is what I came up with for Kelly's Birthday. Hope you're not peeking, Kel!
The patterned paper and flower are from K & Co. Die cut border and flourishes are from QuicKutz. Sentiment is from Crate Paper.
It turns out that I've won a prize at 2 Sketches 4 You as part of their 12 Days of Christmas celebration! Thank you ladies!! What an awesome surprise!

50th Anniversary Card
This is my take on Kazan's sketch 15 on 2 Sketches 4 You. It started out as a birthday card for a friend, but as I went along, I realized that it would be a perfect card for my in-laws 50th Anniversary coming up in a few weeks. Now it's not like me to be so ahead of the game, but this just felt so right! I don't think the shimmer shows on the photo, but the silver paper is just beautiful and the crystal swirls...well, I love them! We're planning on sending the card and flowers to them on the day and then we are taking them on a family trip to Mexico later in the spring. 50 years is a long time, I think it should be celebrated to the max!
Patterned paper is from Basic Grey, flower and crystal swirls are from Prima. Silver flower brad is from Imaginisce, glitter letter stickers are from Making Memories, scallop die cut is from QuicKuts and embossing folder is from Cuttlebug. The silver paper is from Prism (love it!)
Thanks to the team at 2s4U for another great inspirational sketch!

For Unto Us a Child is Born
I love getting Christmas cards in the mail. Store bought or handmade, love them all. They've already started to arrive in our mailbox, and we all rush to open them. I usually get there first!!
I guess that for me it's one of the best parts of Christmas, connecting with friends and family that we may not get a chance to see or visit during the year.
Better get busy getting mine out...
Today I'm sharing one of my favorite cards which was published in one of my favorite magazines CardMaker, in the November issue.
Thanks for stopping by.

Holly Jolly Christmas
It's coming so fast, isn't it? Christmas will come and go before I know it. How is it that time seems to be speeding up each passing year?! As we decorated the tree on the weekend, I couldn't believe that another Christmas was here. I am nowhere near done, but somehow it always seems to get done by the day.
Thought I'd share a Christmas card that was in Card Creations Vol. 6 this past fall. I always look forward to this issue. It's full of so many great ideas for cardmaking. (and it was soooo nice to finally have a card in there!!)
Hope you're preparations are well underway!

Mint Chocolate Chip Cookies
Good Monday Morning!! It's a cold one out there today! Hope you're managing to stay warm.
Thought I'd share a cookie recipe that is a favorite with my girls. I had to hide them in the freezer yesterday to stop the girls from eating them all!
Mint Chocolate Chip Cookies
1 cup butter or margarine
1 ½ cup sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
2 cups flour
2/3 cup cocoa
¾ tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
12 oz. (350 g) mint chocolate chips
Cream butter and sugar, eggs and vanilla. Combine flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt. Add to creamed mixture. Stir in mint chocolate chips. Drop by tsp. full (or cookie scoop). onto a cookie sheet. Bake 8-10 minutes at 350 degrees. Cool for 2 minutes before removing from cookie sheet. Cookies don’t look fully done after required time, but take them out or they will be too dry. Freeze well.
Thanks for stopping by, hope you have a great day!

Traditional Christmas
Not too long ago, I found this set of Christmas chipboard tags from K & Co. I love the traditional cards that just seemed to create themselves with these tags.
It's a cold and snowy day out there. The sun is out, but the wind is making it so chilly. We're all decorated for Christmas, we just need to work on the cards and make some cookies today. And stay warm!
Hope you have a warm and Christmasy Sunday!

Welcome Baby Tomas!
Well, I have some amazing news. My brother and his wife welcomed their first baby last Thursday. Tomas arrived 9 weeks early and was born while my SIL was on a business trip to Calgary. She was driving home and wasn't feeling well so decided to stop at the Red Deer hospital. Baby Tomas arrived 10 minutes later! Even though he's so very tiny, he's growing stronger every day. A true miracle.
We simply cannot wait to meet him. Living away from family is a huge bummer when something wonderful like this occurs!

A Sketch Explosion!!
So I think I'm becoming a sketch girl!! Since starting to do a few sketch cards last week, I think I'm addicted. It's been so much fun creating for a sketch and checking out what others have done with the very same sketch. The creativity out there is amazing!
This is for Kazan's sketch #14 on 2 Sketches 4 You. It was such a fun sketch to create with. And once I started creating with this October Afternoon paper, I couldn't' seem to stop!!

Embossing folder: Cuttlebug
Textured paper: The Paper Co.

Carr's Birthday
Ok...so maybe I'm on to something with these sketches. They seem to be helping the creativity but most importantly, they're helping me get cards done. Who knew?? lol
My friend Barb has been doing sketches for a long time and finally got me onto them. It was o much fun that I'm trying it again this week. Here's my card for this week's sketch (92)on CPS, and it'll be perfect for my friend Carr's birthday next week. The pp is from Crate Paper, flowers are from Making Memories, chipboard flourishes are from Maya Road, inked. I used the script Cuttlebug embossing folder, paper frills from Doodle Bug, the Happy Birthday stamp from Gina K and a vintage button (shank cut off). Hope your week has started off well!

I don't often do sketches, I don't know why. But I've seen more and more gorgeous cards created from them, so I thought I'd give it a try this week. Here's my first one for 2 sketches 4 you. This one was a lot of fun.
Blue paper is old from Karen Foster, I've had it for years. The striped is from Basic Gray. Rub on is from K& Co., stocking chipboard shape is from the $ store.
The next one I did was from CPS. This one was a lot of fun too.
