Darned internal clock...

Would it be too much to ask for a little extra sleep on the weekend? Even a 1/2 hour would do. Nope...like clockwork, my eyes pop open, I look at the clock and it's 6:30. Same time each day, alarm set or not. Such is the gift of getting older...

Today's card is for the color challenge at Embellish Magazine.

I willingly admit that I'm not overly adventurous when it comes to color. I looked at the challenge at the beginning of the week and didn't think I could accomplish this. But as the week went on, I kept this challenge at the back of my mind. And then it came together.

The green in the flower is really much darker, couldn't get it to photograph well. The blue paper is from K&Co, brown is from Basic Grey, textured brown is from an art store (love it!), trim is from Making Memories, flower is from Prima, sticker flower is from Sandylion, sentiment stamp is from Papertrey Ink.

So now I'm thinking that I really like this color combo...thanks for dropping in today and for your comments. I love hearing from you.
Happy Saturday,
Ivanka

Embellish Magazine Color Challenge

The challenge this week over at Embellish Magazine is to design with ribbon and use turquoise, brown and pink in your project.

Here's my take on the challenge. I folded the ribbon over and then went through it with a brad.

The paper and stickers are from Basic Grey (Nook and Pantry), ribbon is from Offray, bling brad is from One heart, One Mind.

Keeping it short and sweet today...It's nice and sunny out today so Pepper and I are heading out for a walk...thanks for stopping by.

Embellish Magazine Stripes Color Challenge

Two post in one day??? Must be a full moon!

I printed out this challenge last week and almost forgot to post my card for it. Since the deadline is tonight, here I am with my second post of the day. Hope you don't mind...

This card is for Embellish Magazine stripes color challenge. Loved these colors, but it was quite a challenge for me. That's the exactly the point of the challenge, right?! So here's what I came up with...the striped paper is from my Costco pack, I used the textile textures embossing folder for the purple, sizzix butterfly die cut, Martha Stewart ribbon and Melissa Frances sentiment.

Check out their DT cards for tons for fab inspiration.

Thanks, Ivanka

Embellish Color Challenge

This is my first time making a card for the Embellish Magazine color challenge. I came across a link to the site and when I saw the colors, I had to give it a try. I haven't made Valentine's Day cards for a few years so it felt good to make some again.

Here's the challenge:
And here's my card, using paper from my scrap pile. The black paper is from Cherry Arte. The name was still on this scrap otherwise I would have never known what it was. The scallop border is from Colorbok and the heart is cut from cardstock and then I covered it with red foil that I had leftover from my candy making days.

Take a peek at the Embellish site for tons of great inspiration.
