Crate Paper & CardMaker Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to another fun blog hop.  We at the CardMaker  blog team are so excited to join in the fun with the amazing artists from the Crate Paper Design Team.  Today we are featuring Crate Paper's gorgeous Maggie Holmes line!  What a fabulous line, so much fun to create with.

For my project today, I started with some white acrylic paint from DecoArt and I dry brushed the Emily Jane paper to distress.  I then used the ephimera die cut cardstock, tags and butterfly.

For the coordinating gift box, I added some distressed cardstock to the top of the box, then die cut a label from the same paper, added some ribbon, twine and a die cut bow from the Ephimera die cut line.

I am in love with this line and can't wait to hop along and see all the beautiful projects created for the hop today.

Your next stop on the hop is:

And don't forget to stop by the Crate Paper Blog where they are hosting a $40 prize pack giveaway of Maggie Holmes items.

Hope you enjoy the blog hop.

Class of 2013

Hello, not too much creativity here lately.  Life sure gets in the way of time spent in the studio.
But that will hopefully change soon.  :)

Today's card is one I made a while ago, just never got around to sharing.  It's going out to my nephew who has just graduated with an Engineering Degree.  :)

The stickers are from SRM , grad hat is from Jolee's, embossing folder is quatrefoil from the paper studio.

Thanks for dropping by.

We'll Miss You

Hello there.

Today's card was for a coworker who left our team.  It's always hard to lose people who you love to work with and who make 'work' a good place to be.

The flowers were from Bazzill, the flower center was from my stash, the leaf die cut is from Stampin' UP! and the embossing folder is from Cuttlebug (Anna Griffin, Acanthus).  The sentiment was printed on vellum, the paper is old My Mind's Eye.

Thanks for dropping by.

CardMaker/Flourishes Blog Hop

Hi and welcome to our CardMaker/Flourishes blog hop!  Today we're joining in the fun of celebrating the May releases from Flourishes.  Take a look at this fun and fabulous Glamour Girls set. Many thanks to Flourishes for providing us with the goodies for today's hop, such fabulous stamp sets.

I love to read but haven't jumped on the e reader bandwagon yet.  Since I usually use folded scraps of paper for book marks, I thought it was high time to make some pretty ones to use instead of scraps.

Here's my book mark, so much prettier than scraps, I think!!

And because I liked it so much, I made 2 more!!  Love this stamp set!

I'm looking forward to seeing these beauties every time I pick up my book.

Don't forget to visit the Flourishes blog where they are hosting a giveaway of their entire May release.   A value of more than $70!!!!!

Your next stop is Silke Ledlow.  I've been a long time fan so I know she will have some wonderful inspiration for you.

Have a great day!

Caring Thoughts

Hi there.

Working full time has certainly not left too much free creative time in the past few months.  But I'm learning to adjust and make time for the important things...like cards.  :)

Here's one I recently made for a friend who needed a sympathy card.

The stamp is from Hero Arts (With Sympathy), the embossing folders are Swiss Dots and Acanthus (Anna Griffin) from Cuttlebug.  The 3 D flower is from K& Co.

Thanks for dropping by,

CardMaker and Gina K Blog Hop!!

Hello and welcome to a wonderful blog hop where the CardMaker blog team is joining the Gina K design team.  You should have arrived from  Valerie Stangle's fabulous blog.

Gina K generously provided the CardMaker team with the gorgeous Spring Parade Stamp TV kit.  This kit is really, really packed with beautiful stamps, patterned paper, cardstock, ribbon and brads...and they all coordinate perfectly.  I know I'm going to be creating with this kit all spring long...and probably beyond!!

You'll find tons of inspiration on our blog hop today, but if you need even more, check out the Spring Parade Pinterest board for lots more beautiful projects with this kit.

Here is my card and gift box...

The flower stamp is from the Blossom stamp set, the sentiment is from the Dreams Take Flight stamp set.

For the gift box, I painted the box black (didn't have a black one), the bow die cut is Bow, Create a Flower from Sizzix.  The flower brad is from my stash, I dipped it in VersaMark ink then heat embossed with Zing embossing powder (Powder) from American Crafts.

Your next stop on the blog hop is Beth Silaika's blog where I know you'll find more gorgeous creations!

And don't forget to stop in at the Gina K blog where where she will be hosting a giveaway on her blog...a $50 gift certificate!!!

Oh, I almost forgot to tell you that I had the opportunity to meet Gina K at her store in Wisconsin a few years ago.  I was visiting my friend Barb and she made a point of making sure we hit the Gina K store...and Gina was there so we said hi...I have no idea why we didn't get a picture with her.  Oh well, I'll just have to go visit again, right Barb?!!!

Have fun on the hop!

CardMaker-Lawn Fawn Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to our CardMaker Blog Design Team and Lawn Fawn blog hop!  You should have arrived here from the very talented Latisha Yoast's Blog.  Lawn Fawn was wonderful enough to supply the CardMaker team with some fun products to create with.

I started with Crumb Cake cardstock from Stampin' UP!, and some fun Lawn Fawn products.  The patterned paper is Daphne's Closet, the super fun stamp is from Critters on the Savanna and I used the Heart Dies.   The ink is Early Espresso from Stampin' UP! I used felt from my stash for the cute giraffe spots and hearts.  The grass is made from a die from Memory Box-Woodrow Rosette.  I used it flat instead of making it into a rosette.

Such fun products to create with.  Hope you enjoy the hop and make sure you visit the Lawn Fawn blog where they are hosting a giveaway of a stamp set and a 6 x 6 pad of paper of the winners choice.

Your next stop on the hop is Tiffany Johnson where I know you will find more fabulous inspiration.

Thanks for dropping by today,

50 Years of Memories

Hello.
I recently put together a memory gift I for a friend's 50th birthday.  Those milestone birthday's are hard, they sneak up on you and get a little harder to take with each passing milestone.  But that doesn't stop us from celebrating....

The idea for this project came from this blog post that I had to Pinterest some time ago, just waiting for the right occasion.  As with any project, this one turned out slightly different than the original.  Still, it was fun to put together and fun to watch my friend being surprised by all the lovely memories.

Here's how it came together.

I sent out an email asking friends and family to send in a letter or a memory.  Some people sent in pictures which was great.  I think if I were to do this again, I'd ask for pictures along with a letter.  It would be so great to see some old pictures that had not been seen in years.

I got the air mail envelopes at the post office and put everyone's name on them.  I added the letters as they came in.

All the letters were wrapped with twine and a tag.

I found this box at Winners, it could not have been better for this occasion.

The birthday girl opening up her box of 50 Years of Memories.

Such a fun project and a wonderful way to mark a milestone.

Hello, Lovely

Hello, Lovely... a sentiment part of a recent release from Papertrey Ink...Happy For You and such a perfect sentiment for so many occasions.  As are all the other sentiments in the set.  As you can see, I was inspired!

There's nothing better than finding a design and supplies that go together perfectly.  Love all the cards, the sentiments are so perfect.  The embossing folders are from Sizzix, Frame, Heart and Vines and Frame, Ornate # 2.  The gorgeous butterflies are from K & Co. and the tags are from Martha Stewart (found on sale at Staples!)  The rhinestone trim on the first card was a gift from my personal shopper in Wisconsin...Barb!

I'm entering these in the City Crafter Challenge Blog where the challenge this week is Wings of an Angel (things with wings)

Thanks for visiting.  Hope you're having a great weekend so far.

Heat It Up!

Happy Valentine's Day!

It's my turn to share a favorite technique over at the CardMaker blog...pop on over to have a peek.

I had so much fun with this and am in love with the gorgeous colors of the Zing embossing powders, that I made another card to share.

Here's the metal frame before heat embossing.

Here's it is on a card.  Isn't that color just beautiful?

I heat embossed the background to match the frame using dot background stamp from Stampabilities.  Zing embossing Powder is from American Crafts.  The sticker sentiment is from SRM, the patterned paper is Loolah from Creative Imaginations, ribbon is from Offray, Foam adhesive is from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L™.

If you're game for a little challenge, I've got the newest issue of CardMaker magazine that I would love to share.

All you have to do is give this technique (heat embossing on metal) a try, come back here and post a link to your card or project in the comments section below and I'll throw your name in for the magazine and a few extra goodies from me.  Link up your cards by Sunday, Feb. 17th midnight and I'll pick a winner on Monday Feb. 18th.

Thanks so much for visiting today.  I can't wait to see your creations.

Happy Heart Day!
