You Can Do It

This is my last entry for PC Gallery Idol.  I've had fun with the challenge but am definitely not expecting much.  Amy has a breakdown of the Gallery Idol stats here.  Interesting.  So many beautiful cards in the gallery.

Today's card is a masculine encouragement card.  I think this will be perfect for one of our friends embarking on a new adventure...not necessarily of his choosing.

The stamp is from Stampabilities, the sentiment is a rub on from Scenic Route, the wood grain embossing folder is from The Paper Studio.

Thanks so much for taking a peek.

Inspiration from Pinterest

I love searching Pinterest for color combinations.  Today, it was yellow, grey and white and love this image that came up.  This was actually a Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger not too long ago.  It was the perfect inspiration my card.

yellow, white, grey

Here's my card...

This is based on the sketch at Stamping 411, but I didn't get it loaded in time for this week.  It's also for Ribbon Carousel Blog, flowers.

All products are from Stampin' Up!  The stamp set I used is For All You Do.  I stamped the flowers with VersaMark on white cardstock, heat embossed, then direct to paper with SU Marigold Morning ink pad, leaving a border around the image.  I colored the seam binding with the ink pad to match.  The background is painted with Twinkling H2O's (Yellow Rose).

My next card was inspired by the picture below found on Pinterest.  I'm entering this into PC's Gallery Idol.

The background is again painted with Twinkling H2O's (Spiced Pumpkin).  When dry, I printed the sentiment on the cardstock (also from Pinterest)  The stamp is from Stampabilities, ribbon is from Offray.

orange and blue

That's all from me today...hope you have a fabulous weekend.

And did you notice a common thread??  They all feature SRM stickers!!  My sticker addiction continues!
Thanks for taking a peek...I'm pretty excited about all of them!

A Splash Of Yellow

Today, I'm playing along with The Play Date Cafe, where the challenge is to use black and white with a splash of yellow.  I'm also entering Paper Crafts Gallery Idol where the first round is to make an encouragement card.

The sentiment is a rub on from Scenic Route.  Washi Tape is from Queen and Co., flowers are from Recollections,

It's been a fabulous long weekend here.  The weather could not have been nicer.  The girls even got out in the pool.

Hope you've had a great weekend.

CardMaker Time to Shine Blog Hop

I'm thrilled to be part of the CardSwaps Time to Shine blog hop.  There is a whole bunch of fun going on at the CardSwaps Message board, so I hope you find some time to check out the challenges, join in the games and get ready to win some prizes.  The crop runs from May 16-19, 2012 and you have until May 22 to get your projects posted on the appropriate thread on the message board.

We're starting the fun off with a 'Time to Shine' blog hop.  We're sharing projects that are bright and glittery and appropriate for a 'shining moment' in someone's life.

You should have come here from Golda's blog and your next stop will be Ana's blog.

I'm sharing a graduation card and necklace.  We have very close family friends whose daughter is graduating from high school next month.  This is a very big shining moment bringing with it great excitement as she gets set to celebrate this milestone.

The shimmery background paper is from POW glitter paper from American Crafts.  I wish my picture showed it better, but the shine of this paper is just gorgeous without the mess of loose glitter.  The letters are Thickers from American Crafts as well.  The 2012 is a sticker from SRM, A Year of Memories.  I used Cuttlebug's Swiss Dots embossing folder for the background.

I also wanted to make our friend's daughter a little something special to commemorate this special event.  Here is a Scrabble tile necklace that I made...(there will be heck to pay when my family discovers that the A tile is missing from the game!!) Shhh!

I've been wanting to try this for a long time, glad I finally did.  There is a great tutorial on how to make this necklace here.

I started by painting my tile black, then sanding the edges when dry.  The '12 is from the same sheet of SRM stickers as above.  I adhered the sticker to white cardstock, then punched it out with CM circle punch.  From there I followed the instructions of the tutorial... adhering the '12 to the tile and applying Diamond Glaze on top.  Lastly adhering the silver bale to the back.

Back to the blog hop fun...now for the Unscramble It game.  Collect a letter from each of the blogs on the hop.  Leave a comment on every blog and on the last blog of the hop the hostess will direct you to the thread in the forum where you will find all the details you need to enter the draw for a prize.  Your hints are:  it's a phrase, it has four words, and it's a way you will be able to shine.

My Letter is:  E

Thanks so much for visiting, I hope you enjoy the hop and the crop!

A One Layer Card...

...is so hard to do when you're used layers....matting...ribbon and bling...but a challenge is always good, so here's my shot at it.

And as you can see...I couldn't stop myself from adding just a touch of ribbon...I know...but it's a huge step in the right direction.

I'm playing along with CAS-ual Friday challenge (feathered friends) and Less is More (One layer card using 3 stamps).

I started out by using my Ancient Page (Lime) ink pad and plopping it right on the card base. The bird stamp is from Stampin Up!, the miss you and heart are from Studio G..  I used Twinkling H2O's to color the bird, flower and heart.  And my rogue ribbon is from Offray.

Thanks for dropping by today...Ivanka
