SRM Sticker Challenge

The SRM Sticker blog is having it's first weekend challenge. The new blog over there is headed up by Jenyfur of Caardvarks fame. The challenge this weekend is to create something using the color orange and stickers, and they don't have to be SRM stickers.

I have a very long and distinguished sticker history and am having fun going through my stash again.

The paper I used for my cards today is from Basic Grey, Sugar Rush. I love the wonderful colors in this line. This sticker is from Creative Imaginations (Teri Martin). I put it on a K&Co.die cut tag. Ribbon is from Offray.

The flower here is from the Sugar Rush line as well and the sticker is from Diecuts With a View.

I'm having fun with my stickers again...and using up supplies...it's all good.
Hope you get to have some creative time this weekend. Maybe even dig out a sticker or two. The SRM challenge goes until Sunday night.

Taintor-Tude Challenge

I've seen Anne Taintor products around, I just didn't know who she was. Now with Moxie Fab's Let's Get Sassy: Taintor-Tude challenge, I'll never forget! I love these retro images with the sassy comments that I wish I could get away with! And I dare you to go check out the entries for the challenge. There is some serious creativity going on over at Moxie Fab world. The cards had me smiling and giggling.

Here's my take on the challenge. The image is an ad for Pyrex and I used an Anne Taintor caption.
The girls are off of school today. I think it might be a 'because I'm the mother...that's why' kind of day.........

Embellish Magazine Stripes Color Challenge

Two post in one day??? Must be a full moon!

I printed out this challenge last week and almost forgot to post my card for it. Since the deadline is tonight, here I am with my second post of the day. Hope you don't mind...

This card is for Embellish Magazine stripes color challenge. Loved these colors, but it was quite a challenge for me. That's the exactly the point of the challenge, right?! So here's what I came up with...the striped paper is from my Costco pack, I used the textile textures embossing folder for the purple, sizzix butterfly die cut, Martha Stewart ribbon and Melissa Frances sentiment.

Check out their DT cards for tons for fab inspiration.

Thanks, Ivanka

Falling For You

I came across a new (to me) sketch site and am so glad I had some time to play along. I also got to play with my new Basic Grey Sugar Rush 6 x 6 pad. I love the 6 x 6 pads for cardmaking, love the size of the papers and it's so easy to coordinate colors and patterns because they all match.

So this is the sketch from Get Sketchy #22. Such a fun sketch and there are some gorgeous DT samples on the site. This is also for Cuttlebug Challenges blog Be Inspired # 68 to make a vintage Valentine's Card. The image is printed on cotton from Crafty Secrets. I added a Bo Bunny rub on right to the fabric image. I used a Textile Textures embossing folder for the mat of the image.

Wanna know what I'm falling for?? This adorable snoring pig. I saw him yesterday at a gift store and had to restrain myself from bringing him home with me. For those of you who are unfamiliar with me piggy collection, check here.

Yes, this little guy would fit right in!

2 Sketches 4 You

And the Valentine's Day cards just keep coming. I can't seem to stop! I'm having a ball though, so I guess it's all good.

Today's card is for 2 Sketches 4 You. The flocked paper is from Making Memories, the heart with roses is from Prima, argyle embossing folder and Martha Stewart ribbon.

And now for something scrumptious....

Doesn't this just look soooo good?? Good enough to share with someone special??
And all this yummyness is under 200 cal.
You can find the recipe here {Guilt Free} Strawberry Shortcake.

Thanks for dropping by today.

Valentine's Day Cards

This is highly unusual for me. Besides making Valentine's Day cards for Steve or the girls, I hardly ever make them. I think the gorgeous paper that's out there right now has got me inspired. I mean, look at this gorgeous Pink Paislee papers. You can't help but be inspired by this prettiness. Well, at least I couldn't help myself!!

This card is based on a sketch # 151 at CPS. The hearts are from the $ store.

This is also another card for Moxie Fab's start to finish challenge. The paper on the inside is Pink Paislee again, stamp is from Anna Griffin, heart is from Sandylion. I'm really liking finishing the insides of my cards. Fun.
*
The rest of my cards today are made from a Freebie. I get daily emails from Craft Gossip and a few days ago they shared this great Valentine digital freebie from The Rubber Punkin. They were so cute that I couldn't resist trying them. Using Scenic Route paper, these cards were a breeze to make and are going out today to the ladies in my recipe swap.
*
I'm entering these cards in for the Tombow contest, as my Tombow mono adhesive dots is the adhesive that holds my cards together.

Aren't these cards the cutest?? I'm loving Valentine's Day!

CPS #150 and Old Stuff Challenge

Hard to believe that it's Thursday already. This week has just flown by.

I finally got to create today, the sun was shining, but it's still cold. Perfect day to stay in and have some fun.

I made this card for a friend using CPS sketch #150. I love these Bo Bunny papers and journaling block. Such pretty colors and patterns. The flowers are from Prima, silver flowers are from Jolee's. And I just love how the Textile Texture embossing folder looks on the shiny paper.

I also recently came across the Tombow Blog and they are giving away great prizes for using their products. Since I am addicted to my MONO Adhesive Dots roller, I thought I'd enter these cards into the draw. I also got to use my new MONO Glue Pen for the small silver flowers.

The next 2 cards are for Teri Anderson's Old Stuff Challenge and Caardvarks Red Heart Challenge. The minute I came across Teri's challenge to use old stuff, I started digging through my stash for those old papers that have survived every purging. I found quite a few. Not sure why, but there are those certain pieces of paper that I just can't part with.

And this 7 Gypsies paper (from 2003, anyone remember it?) has been saved from purging many, many times. I'm so happy to finally give it new life. 7 years is long enough to hide out in the scrap box, I think.
The beautiful felt hearts are from Dolores Etsy shop. I love, love, love these! They are such sweet little creations. I have no idea how she has the patience to work on these little beauties, but I'm so glad she does. The rub on sentiment is from QuicKutz. Also something I've had in my stash for a few years now.

The chipboard on this card is from Scenic Route.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I'm off to find more old stuff to play with. With CHA this weekend, I need to make room for some new stuff!!

CPS sketch #149

For today's card I'm using paper that's leftover from cards I've made this week for CPS Sketch # 149. I'm also continuing to try and finish the insides of my cards and I'm liking the clean and simple look.

The paper is from Basic Grey (Nook and Pantry), grid paper is from K & Co., flowers are from Jolee's and the sentiment is from Melissa Frances.

The sentiment on the inside is from Melissa Frances as well and the daisy punch is from EK Success.
Quick card...love that.

Hope you have some fun things planned for the weekend.

Thanks for stopping by today. Ivanka

Moxie Fab-Start to Finish Challenge

Do you ever finish the insides of your cards? I have been more and more lately. Cards seem to be more 'finished' when the inside coordinates with the front of the card...and it's a great way to use up some of the scraps from the project.

I made 2 cards for Moxie Fab Start to Finish challenge. The first one doesn't have a recipient in mind yet, but I have a 'wee' tendency towards procrastination so I'm sure it'll come in handy when a birthday whizzes by in the next few months.

The paper is from Basic Grey (Nook and Pantry), label is from K&Co (from a Christmas line painted white), rub on sentiment is from My Sentiments Exactly.

The sentiment continues to the inside of the card. And isn't it a perfect sentiment for when you forget a birthday? The large flower is a die cut from Sizzix, small daisy punch is from Marvy.

I just recently bought a Sakura Glue Pen and it was just perfect to use on gluing down the small punches. It's quickly becoming one of my favorite adhesives.
My next card is clean and simple. I kept it simple to let Dolores' (Crafty D's Creations) beautiful felt heart stand out. The label is from K&C0. and I'm not sure who makes the ribbon, I only had a small piece left.
I followed through and left the inside clean and simple as well. The felt hearts are a die cut from Sizzix.
Paper Crafts is celebrating the release of Card Creations Start to Finish and Cath has some wonderful inspiration and fun prizes on the Moxie Fab blog. Pop on over if you have time...I promise you'll be very inspired to finish the insides of your cards.

Thanks...Ivanka

Embellish Color Challenge

This is my first time making a card for the Embellish Magazine color challenge. I came across a link to the site and when I saw the colors, I had to give it a try. I haven't made Valentine's Day cards for a few years so it felt good to make some again.

Here's the challenge:
And here's my card, using paper from my scrap pile. The black paper is from Cherry Arte. The name was still on this scrap otherwise I would have never known what it was. The scallop border is from Colorbok and the heart is cut from cardstock and then I covered it with red foil that I had leftover from my candy making days.

Take a peek at the Embellish site for tons of great inspiration.

Card Patterns Sketch 46

Happy Monday morning. I have a sick girl at home from school today and still sleeping, so all is quiet in the house. It is just no fun to be sick.

While I wait for her to wake, I thought I'd take a minute to post a card I made yesterday based on Sketch 46 at Card Patterns. I'm really keeping things simple these days. I think I'm still detoxing from all the Christmas cards I made in the past few months.

Isn't this the cutest image from Crafty Secrets? I've had it out to use for a while and it finally made it onto a card. The paper is from My Mind's Eye and the buttons are from Basic Grey.

I had a wonderful chat with my friend Barb yesterday. We got onto adhesive and she mentioned that she uses the ATG gun and how much she loves it. I know there's been a lot of talk about it, but I haven't seen one anywhere and to me it just seems really big and bulky.

Then I came across this article by Craft Critique. Everyone says that it takes a bit of getting used to. So what are your thoughts on the ATG gun? Which adhesive do you use? I'd love to hear from you.

Cuttlebug Challenge

Sunday already and the hibernation continues...at least the sun is shining letting me take pictures of my cards.
This card is for the Cuttlebug Challenges blog. The challenge is to create something with a basic white theme, Asian if possible. I didn't have anything Asian, so went with a wedding theme.

The bird is from Prima and the sentiment is from Melissa Frances. I used the Textile Texture
embossing folder on glossy cardstock.

Continuing on a variation of the wedding theme, I made this anniversary card. It's also repurposing as the heart was part of a project I did a few years ago. After having it sit in a box for so long, it was time to give it new life. The stamp is from Impression Obsession. The paper is leftover from earlier in the week.

Thanks so much for dropping by. Hope you're having a wonderful Sunday.

Happy Saturday

Not leaving the house certainly has it's advantages...like making more cards.....

Yesterday I got to play along with the current Caardvarks sketch and I combined it with Moxie Fab World's color challenge. And this is what I got...

More paper from my Costco stash. Ribbon is from May Arts, flower and rhinestones are from Prima, square jewel is from Making Memories and the rub on sentiment is from Melissa Frances.

Thanks for dropping by. Hope you get to do some creating today.

CPS Sketch 148

I always seem to hibernate in January. Just looking outside makes me cold. So I'm just so happy to have my new studio for me to hide in this year. I turn the space heater on and I feel toasty warm and never want to leave.

Yesterday was a wonderful day to come across CPS sketch for this week. The cards just kept coming. I kept the design pretty simple, got to use lots of paper and finally got around to using the 7 Gypsies gaffer tape I've been hoarding all these years.

Here I used the Cuttlebug Argyle embossing folder, Martha Stewart adhesive ribbon and stamp is from Pink Cat Studio.

Don't know who makes this paper, I won it from one of the challenges on Caardvarks a few years ago. It is really unique and I automatically got a vision of a masculine card when I found it again yesterday. Metal plate is from $ store.

Same paper and here I used the gaffer tape from 7 Gypsies and ribbon from Lil Davis, rub on sentiment is from Deja Views.

Stickers are from Scenic Route.

For Christmas, I got a whole whack of paper from Costco and this was one of those sheets (1,000 more to go!! LOL) I really like this yellow, although yellow is not usually one of my favorite colors. Stamp is from Stampabilities colored with Twinkling H2O's. Ribbon is from May Arts and sentiment is from Melissa Francis.

More Gaffer tape and the trim is from Making Memories.

So I guess that's it for now. Maybe winter is not all that bad, as long as I don't have to leave the house!!

Happy Friday,

Ivanka

It's a New Year!

I've been a bit scarce around here, haven't I? We've had a wonderful Christmas season with both sides of the family coming to spend some time with us. My mom came for Christmas and Steve's parents came for New Years. I really do wish that we lived closer to our families, but it is such a nice treat when we have them with us for the holidays. With all the rush of Christmas and visitors, creating time has been non existent.

Hard to believe a new year has started. But with the kids back in school yesterday and the Christmas things all put away, I settled in my studio and just had fun.

The first card is for Kazan's sketch on 2 Sketches 4 You. It was fun to have some time to play this week.
The paper and label is from Basic Grey (Nook and Pantry), Flowers are from Prima (coral) and K & Co., pearls are from Prima, letter stickers are from My Little Shoe Box. Not sure who makes the ribbon.

The next batch of cards are just me having fun. Quick and easy and so much fun to make. I got a whole whack of paper for Christmas and it was fun to just pull out a page and go to it. Everything else is just using up old supplies.

Hope you've had a wonderful holiday and wishing you all the best in the coming year.
Here's an oldie for you...
Take care,
Ivanka
