Starting my day off with a smile...

Do you ever find that when you run into an old friend unexpectedly that it leaves you with a smile in your heart as you remember all the fun times shared together? I've been experiencing that with Facebook. Unexpected high school friends will pop in and add me as a friend and it just brings back all the great times we had 'way back then'. None of the 'bad' memories have found me yet...thank goodness!!
Well this morning my day started off with a smile when I opened up an unexpected email from a cardmaking friend who I had lost touch with. As it turns out, this cardmaking friend is a man, John VanMulders. He had seen my cards in the new Just Weddings magazine and emailed a mutual friend to get my address. It was so nice to hear from him, what a great way to start the day. I'm still smiling.
By the way, if you want to have a look at John's gorgeous cards, pick up Just Weddings from Scott Publishing and you'll see them scattered throughout the magazine.

The cards I'm sharing today are for this week's sketches on 2 Sketches 4 You.

This is for Laura's Sketch # 18. I used Basic Grey's Sugared line of papers for both of these cards, Spellbinder's circle Nestie and Fiskars scalloped circle punch. I embossed the scalloped circle with the Cuttlebug Argyle folder. Then I smothered it with Primas...lol! The gems are from Kaiser Craft. Ribbon snap is from Melissa Frances and the sticker letters are from Making Memories. Ribbon is from the $ store.

This is for Rae's Bonus Sketch. Die cut circle with Spellbinders again, chipboard flower is from Magistical Memories. I painted it with MM paint and stamped with a script rubber stamp (?)
The paper flower is from the $ store, gems are from Prima, Rub on sentiment is from Deja Views and the ribbon is from Basic Grey.
Thanks for stopping by. Hope you have a great weekend.
Have you found or been found by old friends on Facebook? I'd love to hear your stories.

Both these cards are fantastic - love how you smothered it with Primas - I have some bottles - hmmmm - wonder where I got those - have any idea - I need to smother something with Primas.

These are gorgeous cards, Ivanka! Love those Primas. Glad you heard from John - it'd be great to see him on the new site.
BTW, I am completely addicted to Facebook! I have reconnected with friends from as far back as elementary school:-)
